La Commedia Divina – 100 Lithographs by Liam Ó Broin

Jacopo Turini March 22, 2021 CDSI, EVENTS

The CDSI (Centre for Dante Studies in Ireland) cordially invites you to the virtual launch of our Online Exhibition:

La Commedia Divina – 100 Lithographs by Liam Ó Broin

The launch will take place via Zoom at 17.00 on Dantedì – that is, Dante-day (25 March), the day in which the Florentine poet is celebrated around the world. This year in particular we commemorate the septicentennial anniversary of Dante’s death. The exhibition is a unique collection of lithographs and constitutes the first time an Irish artist has attempted to engage with and respond to the entirety of Dante’s 100 cantos of the Divine Comedy.

Speakers include: Dr Daragh O’Connell (Director of CDSI and co-curator of Exhibition), Dario Galassini (Designer and co-curator of Exhibition), Liam Ó Broin (Artist), Brian Mc Avera (Curator of Exhibition in Dublin Castle) and Mary Heffernan (Office of Public Works).

Thursday 25 March at 5.00pm
