The Centre for Dante Studies in Ireland is pleased to announce the annual series of five public lectures on Dante.

 

DANTE LECTURE SERIES 2023

Monday January 23 – Dr Lorenzo Dell’Oso (University of Göttingen) – Reading (and Listening to) Aristotle in Dante’s Florence

Monday January 30 – Professor Paola Nasti (Northwestern University) – “Farfalla angelica”: Aristotelian refashioning of biblical insects in the Commedia (via Zoom only)

One week break due to Bank Holiday in Ireland

Monday February 13 – Professor Andrea Aldo Robiglio (KU Leuven) – If Dante returned to Jerusalem, would he find himself in Camelot? On the chivalric undertone in Dante’s Comedy

Monday February 20 – Professor Martin McLaughlin (University of Oxford) – Dante and Antiquity

Monday February 27 – Dr Aistė Kiltinavičiūtė (University of Cambridge) – Dante’s Dream Language
