The Centre for Dante Studies in Ireland, the Department of Italian UCC and CASiLaC (Centre for Advanced Studies in Languages and Cultures) are pleased to announce the annual series of five public lectures on Dante.

  1. Tues Jan 29 – Professor Alan Titley (University College Cork) – ‘Irishing the Holy Joke: Dante in the Irish Language’
  2. Tues Feb 5 – Prof. Graham Allen (University College Cork) – ‘Romantic Dantes’
  3. Tues Feb 12 – Prof. Bernard O’Donoghue (University of Oxford) – ‘Dante and the Irish Poets’
  4. Tues Feb 19 – Prof. Claire Honess (University of Leeds) – ‘“Una anima sola soletta”: The Strangeness of Solitude in Dante’s Commedia’
  5. Tues Feb 26 – Prof. Éamonn Ó Carragáin (University College Cork) – “Dante and Rome: Ideals and Realities’
