Inferno – Elliot Murphy (Aula Maxima, Nov 11, 6.30 pm)

Jacopo Turini November 2, 2022 CDSI, EVENTS

Join us in the Aula Maxima for an exclusive music performance of Inferno (live solo Cello and recorded parts) by Elliot Murphy!

Elliot Murphy is an Irish composer and instrumentalist (cello, guitar) based in Berlin. In 2021, on the occasion of the Septuacentennial of Dante Alighieri’s death, he premiered his Inferno for live solo Cello and interactive pre-recorded strings at the Coach House Gallery in Dublin Castle. The piece was supported by funding from the Irish Arts Council and was performed alongside the lithographs by Irish artist Liam Ó Broin. He will perform it again on Friday 11, 6.30 pm, as one of the highlights of the conference Dante Futures: New Voices in Ireland and the UK, co-organised by the Centre for Dante Studies in Ireland and the Leeds Centre for Dante Studies.
