Dante Public Lecture Series 2018 announced

The Department of Italian and CASiLaC are pleased to announce the annual series of five public lectures on the great Italian poet Dante Alighieri.

  • Tuesday January 23 – Dr Daragh O’Connel (University College Cork) – “Dante’s Envy: Poetry and PUnishment in the Court of Vice”
  • Tuesday January 30 – Dr Claudia Rossignoli (University of St Andrews) – “Hopes Betrayed: Justice and Suicide in Dante’s Comedy”
  • Tuesday February 6 – Professor Philip Terry (University of Essex) – “Dante in Essex: A Topographical Translation”
  • Tuesday February 13 – Dr David Bowe (University of Oxford) – “The Authority of Women in Dante’s Divine Comedy?”
  • Tuesday February 20 – Dr Philip Coleman (Trinity College Dublin) – “Dantean Echoes in Twentieth-Century American Poetry: The Middle Generation and Beyond”
